I've been an environmentalist for as long as I can remember; I got into biology as a kid in Northwich, Cheshire, studied Botany at Uni, went on to doing HNC Mechanical Engineering while working in London, then a course in Industrial Energy Conservation.
I then returned to Cheshire for a job in Energy Conservation.
I'm now with Vale Royal Environment Network writing their newsletter and mixing with the members. I'm also helping local gardeners through Organic Food for All and Vale Royal Organic and Wildlife Gardeners.
And I'm pushing the message that we can cut a hell of a lot of carbon emissions by BEING SENSIBLE: lay off the flying, minimise your travel needs, share your house, cut down on meat and dairy, and consume less generally. Then there's less hassle at airports, you may not need the expense or time to look after a car, you can share your house bills, you spend less on food and stuff, you don't need to work so hard, you can enjoy LIFE!
